8. Bob Marley
Bob Marley popularized reggae music worldwide and is one of the most iconic forces in all of music, regardless of genre. The Jamaican native survived an assassination attempt in the mid-’70s, but soon after he was diagnosed with acral lentiginous melanoma. He died from the skin cancer in 1981 at the age of 36.
