4. Ricky Nelson

Ricky Nelson became a star very young — he starred alongside his family members in the hit radio and then TV show The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet beginning when he was 8. His music career began when he was a teen, notching several hits that helped him become one of the leading teen pop idols of the ’50s and ’60s. Nelson’s maintained a fairly successful music career (he was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987) leading up to the plane crash that took his life in 1985. Nelson was 45.
