The Rubik’s Cube was an early ’80s phenomenon that rocked the toy world, but by 1983, sales of the cube began to plummet as the fad began fading away. That’s likely one of the reasons Rubik the Magic Cube only lasted one season. The show featured Rubik, a flying, talking Rubik’s Cube with a face who possessed special powers and helped out a group of kids with everything from foiling an evil magician to getting revenge on a bully. Rubik was voiced by Ron Palillo, who played Arnold Horshack on the sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter. The show’s theme song was sung by the Puerto Rican boy band Menudo.
