5. Slime
Mattel originally launched Slime in 1976, which ushered in an era of slime based toys into the 80s, much to the dismay of moms everywhere. The sticky, gooey green substance would ooze all over pretty much everything making icky messes everywhere.
Slime was released in various forms over the years, including Slime containing rubber insects, eyeballs, and worms. Slime was also the centerpiece of 1980s playsets Masters of the Universe Hordak’s Slime Pit and Slime Monster game.
