With the music he made with The Beatles and his later solo work, John Lennon was one of the most famous and influential humans on planet earth. His life was cut short when he was shot and killed by Mark David Chapman outside of New York City apartment building where he lived with wife Yoko Ono and young son Sean. Lennon was 40 years old.
